The club was funded in 1995 and since then has enjoyed much well deserved success. Barry Gaelic Football Club is local club that plays in the North American Championships every year. As an Irish Pub, we like to stay involved in the Irish community in Philadelphia by supporting special events and Irish organizations such as Kevin Barry’s.
The Philly Hawks are an Australian Rules Football Club. The Club began in 1998 as the Philly Crows by founder Chris Hasson (US) and consisted of 5 to 6 eager players meeting in the snow and slush down at the lakes in South Philly.
A couple of years back the mother team, the mighty Hawthorn Football Club (Hawks) of Australia, saw the clubs successes and growth and asked the Philly Crows to be their sponsored club here in the US. Since then the roster has grown to over 30 steady players with an Alumni that has reached over a hundred spread around the globe. The current line up consists of about 70% US, 30% Australian players.
