Executive Chef: Chef Max Johnson accepted the position of Executive Chef at Con Murphy’s in March 2013. Max was raised on a farm in rural North Carolina and was inspired to cook by his grandmother. Johnson has a degree in chemistry from Appalachian State University with a minor in biology. He was invited to run a restaurant as he completed his education. Chef Max has worked as executive chef at Sea Pines Country Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina and the renowned Charleston Place Hotel in Charleston, SC. He previously owned and operated a restaurant for three years on Kiawah Island.
